Thaddeus Bell

Development Manager

Thaddeus oversees development execution, coordinating internal and external team members to design and deliver excellent multifamily communities in GWREP’s target markets. Prior to GWREP, he led all activities for multifamily and commercial development at The Commercial Group in Baltimore. Prior to The Commercial Group, he was a development Project Manager for Toll Brothers City Living and led the execution of for-sale and for-rent Class-A multifamily projects in the Washington, DC market. Thaddeus received his bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and his Masters in Real Estate and City Planning from Cornell University.

Cameron Coy

Development Associate

Cameron supports the execution of deal underwriting, due diligence, development, asset management and the transition of properties from construction through stabilization. Prior to GWREP, he worked on the investments team at Stonebridge, supporting the underwriting and development of residential and mixed-use assets. He also worked as a capital markets analyst for EDENS, a retail focused REIT. Cameron received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia.

Chris Danner

Senior Project Manager

Chris leads all project management activities and supervises the architectural and engineering coordination with the design/consultant team as well as ownership. He also leads weekly project meetings and oversees all trade subcontractors regarding coordination and cost control throughout the life of the project. In addition, he works on the preconstruction and purchasing of various trade packages. Prior to joining GWREP, Chris gained experience in multifamily new development at Trammell Crow Residential and Clark Construction. Chris received his bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech.

John Denton

Controller

John handles all financial activity impacting GWREP and affiliated entities. He is an active AICPA member and is a Certified Public Accountant in Virginia. Before joining GWREP, he served as Director of Development and Capital Projects at JBG Smith. He was responsible for accounting governance for all development projects, as well as recurring and non-recurring capital projects for operating assets. Prior to JBG Smith, he was an auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, conducting financial statement audits, including managing client relationships, analyzing financial data, assessing risk, and providing guidance and expertise on financial statement reporting and disclosures. John received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Richmond and his Masters in Real Estate Finance from Georgetown University.

Robert Gordon

Principal

Rob Gordon focuses on asset management of existing projects, the capitalization of predevelopment projects, development execution, and deal sourcing. Before launching GWREP, Rob worked for River Asset Management Company, a multifamily owner/manager focused on value-add workforce housing. Before moving to Charlottesville, he worked in Acquisitions with Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers (now Barings), the real estate private equity arm of Mass Mutual. In this capacity he pursued acquisition and development opportunities on behalf of Cornerstone’s institutional clients across the United States. Prior to Cornerstone, Rob worked at Eastdil Secured in their Institutional Investment Sales Group and Bank of America’s Commercial Real Estate Banking Group. Rob is a cum laude graduate of the University of Southern California.

William Gordon

Principal

Will Gordon leads development execution, deal sourcing, and asset management. He is actively involved in the management of legal and accounting matters for GWREP and its affiliates. Prior to forming GWREP, Will worked at River Asset Management Company, a multifamily owner/manager based in Charlottesville, Virginia. Before moving to Charlottesville, Will worked at Walker & Dunlop in Washington, D.C. where he focused on multifamily debt origination for FNMA, FMAC, Life Cos., CMBS, and Regional Banks. Before Walker & Dunlop, Will worked as an appraiser at RCDH & Company, a regional commercial appraisal firm. Will graduated with a B.A. from the University of Virginia.

Jackson Spivey

Senior SuperIntendent

Jackson leads field construction activities at GWREP regarding subcontractor coordination, schedule adherence, safety and quality. Prior to joining GWREP, Jackson gained experience as a superintendent at Richmond-based general contractor KBS, Inc. where he supervised craft activities, resolved construction problems, monitored and controlled project costs, led daily meetings to chart performance and oversaw the site management project documentation. Before KBS, Inc. Jackson gained experience at Baker Concrete Construction. Jackson received his bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech.

Russell Whitworth

Principal

Russ Whitworth has focused the last 32 years of his career on the development and construction of multifamily. Russ spearheads all elements of the development and construction process at GWREP. Prior to forming GWREP, Russ led Greystar’s Mid-Atlantic region as Managing Director in charge of project execution. Before Greystar, Russ ran development & construction for Faison’s DC office and was a Development Manager at Post Properties. Before moving to the development side, he was a Project Manager with Turner Construction and a Field Superintendent at The Clark Group. Russ holds a class A GC license. He graduated from Arizona State University and attended the Johns Hopkins Masters in Real Estate Program.

Troy Zieman

Senior Development Associate

Troy manages deal underwriting, due diligence, development execution, asset management and the transition of properties from construction through stabilization. Prior to GWREP, he worked in the commercial real estate capital markets in Washington, DC first at Colliers International on their office investment sales team and then at Cushman & Wakefield on their National Loan Sales team. He also worked as an asset management associate for a multifamily owner-operator overseeing a 4,440-unit real estate portfolio. Troy received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia, a Masters in Real Estate Finance from Georgetown University as well as a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.
